He's Got Mail?
The postie is Arlo's friend, for a few years now the postie drops a biscuit through the letterbox which means Arlo is generally fine with people delivering things... before that he'd always bark scaring the life out of us! When we were away on holiday earlier this year, we had a pile of biscuits waiting for us. Today the postie delivered a biscuit to Arlo despite having no mail for us! The cheek!
Earlier I'd taken Arlo to the vets for his vaccination... we'd tried last week but he refused it. I'd been (re)training him for 2-3 weeks before that. He had some "chill pills" for the appt last week and his dosage was doubled today, but despite being a bit wobbly, he was not really dozy. I'd suggested the vet tries to do it as soon as possible and had planned how we'd tackle it, but first he went over to see her, and boosh, I don't know how she did it, but she snuck the needle round to his scruff and did it... I am sure she had an extra hand somewhere. He must have felt it though as he was avoiding her, and she still had to do the kennel cough squirt up his nose, which she eventually did by the front door, luckily nobody need to come in... he was ready for leaving. So that's the good news, and relief, but the vaccinations cover an extra strain now, so for that to work, he needs another dose in 4 weeks, boooo. At least we've got 4 weeks to prepare...
So I took him a slow walk on our way back and on getting home I let him free in the garden and then he began lying down in several places and chilled, occasionally with his eye shut... not something he's done before. This was 2 hours later, maybe the chill pills were kicking in now.
After a proper sleep we went a walk around Edgelaw... the sun was glorious, so on return we had our first BBQ, which was nice... then the final lef of Race Across The World.... aw.... lovely, I wanted another couple to win but was happy for them... what a fab show.
