Up at ridiculous o'clock to head to London for the day.

The Severn tunnel was shut for maintenance, so we were diverted up through Gloucester. So, there was an extra 50 minutes added to our journey. Of course it didn't go according to plan and we got caught behind a slow train so were delayed getting into Paddington. I eventually got into the office around 9:30am.

When I left Wales it was glorious, but by the time we got to London it was dull and overcast. It didn't brighten up until late afternoon, but by that time it was nearly home time.

A couple of meetings in the office, but I was just allowed to get on with work. It's not the same without my young padawan, the day was short on laughs.

Tried a new sandwich shop at lunchtime, the sandwiches were massive.

Train dramas on the way home. We were due to catch the 18:12 and there was just barely minutes to the train when they called the platform on five. This was not the normal platform for the journey home, so everyone rushed to the gates and it was a proper squeeze. It then came up on the board that it wasn't actually our train at all, but the Bristol Temple Meads train. It turns out our train was delayed by about 10 minutes or so. It eventually came in and again it was a rush to get on the train. I eventually got home about 20-30 minutes late.

At least I had plenty of time to read my book. Lol!

Today I am thankful for:

2.  Plenty of time to read my book
