The loneliness of the long distance bait digger ….
It’s another beautiful day, warmer than yesterday with that balmy mid-summer feel. A walk along West Shore reveals layers of low tide sand flats appearing from a glittering sea. Midweek and term time means things are quiet - especially at the far end of the beach, deserted but for a lone bait-digger far out on the flats, silhouetted against a shimmering backdrop
Arriving home, I’m surprised by a flower delivery from our friends Nic and Elaine. Such a kind thought. I feel a little guilty, thinking that having missed out on surgery I don’t really deserve them, but they assure me they’ve sent them just because of the disappointment of the cancellation!
