It’s a route I’ve done many times before and one of my favourite. At school in ‘77-‘78 and with family after the pandemic. Plus others.
We sat on some large stones near Langdale tarn. I was sussing it out for a swim. Tom saw what he thought was a moth. On closer inspection and some guidance from Google he decided it was a Dark Giant Horse Fly. I was up and back on the path in a flash.
We had a slow amble round the town mid afternoon. Looking at the shops including an ice cream shop.
It’s quite muggy this evening and the rains just started. Home tomorrow. It’s been an enjoyable week.
