Two viaducts

Constructed 131 years apart. Roughly.
Both beautiful. Both challenging engineering problems in their time. Both the highest when they were built..
We are in Millau. Main photo ( Extra also See LooseCanon ‘s blip)is of the famous Viaduc de Millau. Sir Norman Foster,  its architect, said  that driving over it should feel like “ flying a car”
It has a very beautifully done visitor centre and viewpoint.
We’ve been before and it doesn’t disappoint.
LooseCanon has blipped the Viaduc de Garabit, designed by Eiffel (of Tower fame)
Of course neither Sir Norman nor Eiffel were working alone.
Garabit has a plaque on telling us that Engineers Bauby and Boyer were co engineers, and Foster was jointly responsible with Michel Virlogeux.
I expect there were whole  teams of lesser known civil engineers working on every nut bolt and calculation.
