just the 3 of us

Despite our hopes, the phone call came last night, meaning a long overnight 6 hour drive.

Sis rang in tears saying she had had the dreaded call to get to the hospital asap….. so a quick dash from the restaurant back to our cosy little pad, threw everything in the cases & was on the road within 50mins.

Long story short, they managed to stabilise BiL after several hours, sis eventually got home at 0100hrs, we got back to mine at 0400hrs.

Alarm went off at 0830, just enough time to dress and drive into Mcr to drop C off at the train station, to get back to Lincoln, such a rubbish way to end my birthday treat break away, but needs must!

I drove straight to sis’s…….we hugged tight, then gathered ourselves, she filled me in, we did a few chores before heading up to the hospital.

BiL although still very poorly, is awake, alert, giving the nurses grief lol, eating & drinking & according to the Doc this afternoon, now responding, although they have identified another infection in his blood which is very unusual…… a referral to the microbiologist has been made regarding how to treat this :-/

Overall, a bit more positive so fingers crossed that tonight passes without any dramas X
