That Will Do!

Gladstone Pottery Museum

Had a fab visit to this museum in Longton, still a functioning pottery but with all the original work areas on display, from preparation of the clay to finished product. Main photo of the yard from an upstairs window.

Extra photo: a whimsical method of attracting little visitors to particular area of the tour. I was hoping to find them in the shop but a demonstrator, finishing a  smaller, model told me that they were no longer produced and the mould has disappeared. I thought it may have been inspired by the Julia Donaldson character Tabby McTat.

Energy was sapping after about three hours so we repaired to the cafe for coffee and cake before continuing. But the tile section, followed by the 'bathroom ceramics' was just too much to take in and concentration was zero. It was pouring with rain as we returned to the car park and headed back to our accommodation for a brief rest.

Then it was 'off we go' to see Big Brother for tea and a catch-up, arriving back at  around 10.30, I am zonked so that's all for now.
