Wet Boots

We have gone and bought season tickets for the Dalbeattie Walking Festival for £5 each, the walks are guided by someone who knows the route and should know something about the local fauna and flora they charge £2:00 a walk so if we do a minimum of three walks we’re quids in.
It rained pretty solidly overnight so things were a bit damp to start but as our first walk was a forest trail by means of F C tracks that wasn’t too bad but the one in the afternoon was a bit different, this started out on forest tracks but soon the track ran out and we were on narrow paths up fairly steep land then out onto the moor, to the trig point and down the other side to home.
To say our boots were damp is like saying the Sahara desert can be a bit hot. Here are our boots drying in front of S’s Aga cooker. Should be dry by the morning, they’d better be, as another walk is planned with a 10:30 start.
