I went to Petaluma today to visit an artist friend who paints illuminated manuscripts. I stopped at the post office on my way. Not because the main Petaluma post office is the closest, or most convenient, but because it is still housed in the original 1938 building and I find that far more interesting that the newer versions (1972?) that lack, oh, let's just say, charm.
