Mackerel sky

Into Holmfirth this morning to meet Jaynie at Beatties. We enjoyed coffee and cake whilst putting the world to rights, as you do!

Huddersfield the afternoon for a chest X-ray. A complete and utter waste of time (and NHS money...) and one of the NHS's little idiosyncrasies - in order to have the test I really need, it's obligatory to have the X-ray first, however relevant - or not - it may be! MrM dropped me off outside the hospital and went to buy a couple of things at a DIY shop. I was in and out of the X-ray department before the appointment time, and he passed the hospital and picked me up on the way home. Perfect timing!

Looking out of the kitchen window (at the back of the house) as I was doing the washing up this evening, I noticed the mackerel sky. They say it heralds fine weather, so fingers crossed!
A little later the sky viewed from the front of the house (extra) was also interesting.
