French Lavender Fields

Started the day with relaxed coffee and pain au raisin which we ordered the night before. We packed up the van smoothly as we are used to this by now! Departed at 10am for our final drive in France.

We passed through a pretty agricultural area of many different crops. The most striking were the lavender fields. Also saw what appeared to be Endive and Asparagus plus another blue flower - maybe Flax.

We are driving straight to Calais and benefiting from our Flexi Plus ticket and crossing when we get there, with no set time.

We stopped in a shady spot at the motorway services where I did my Stretches à la Betty from Silver Sneakers and we had a decent picnic lunch with some cooked sausages we had left over from last night’s dinner and our last French Baguette.

David has booked a place at Little Satmar in Folkestone where we stayed before.

So now we are back in England!
