Friday the 13th

Must admit not bothered by all the superstition surrounding Friday 13th We just carry on. Today we've been pruning our Japanese Ornamental Cherry tree. It's grown significantly over the years and overshadowed the tree peony, which is suffering. So we (I) decided today was the day to start pruning. We done about two thirds and have called it a day. Will finish it off on the next dry day. Meanwhile will be top dressing the peony and watering with liquid fertiliser. 
Very hot this afternoon and very muggy.
