Here he is!

This is the moment Rich rounded the corner for our unscheduled meet for lunch today.

I happened to book a campsite on Rich’s line west east across Belgium and today, my route also headed almost into his path (not in the direction I thought he’d be coming from either.) So, we took the opportunity for lunch in Spa which meant managing leaving times—not so easy given Rich said he’d be there between 9.30 and 11.30! Only had about 20 minutes to wait so I took some pics and then realised I’d better get my act into gear and find a nice cafe.

We then cycled about twelve miles together, including past the very noisy Spa Formula One track (which amazingly I can’t hear from camp) back to my turn off. Rich had another twenty hilly miles to contend with after already doing forty with lots of ascent. I wasn’t envious of that in the slightest. Anyway, he’s made it!
