Bus Trip

Jess was on a fitness mission this morning with classes at the sports centre. I took the opportunity for a bus trip to Keswick, my plan to return to the 100 year old stone on Derwentwater. I was there back on the 15th April but the waters were so low they were nowhere near the stones. 
The weather was supposed to be fine and sunny according to Met Office but it was windy squalls and on the chilly side. Plenty of water recently and the lake was somewhat restored. I faffed around with a variable ND filter trying for a longish exposure and avoiding blowing out the sky.  The sun popped out for a minute and I managed to get this shot.
Afterwards I had a walk up onto Castlehead for a view over the whole of Derwentwater, it was really blowing up there - hard to stand still. There were a few Speckled Woods about on the woodland slopes, I went for a front on view for a change (extra)
A pasty and a celebratory quaff at the Craft Beer Bar and then back on the bus where I duelled with a Shield Bug on the bus window,  quite a challenge on the top floor of a bus getting thrown around and trying to get focus on a wandering beetle. (extra)
