Went to Finlandrigg Woods this morning to see how the orchids were coming along.  I don't think there's as many this year as in previous years which is a shame.  I always thought they were the Common Spotted ones but it's possible they may be Heath Spotted ones!   It's been quite a hot day so after checking the tide time took Tess to the estuary for a paddle.  I'm so glad I did as a friend who does home boarding came along with three young dogs so of course there was lots of playing.  Was so good to watch them chasing each other both in and out the water.   Did an hour's gardening this evening after it had cooled down a bit.
