Smallhythe Place.

Originally built in the 16th century, this building was purchased by the Victorian actress Ellen Terry. 

This is our second visit to this National Trust property, the first being a couple of years ago, I think.

The extra is the Barn Theatre built in the grounds to put on plays with other famous actors of the day.

A whole host of actors from the modern era have also staged plays here. 

I must admit that with my back problems and the heat Jak and I sat in the shade of an umbrella while Mrs K had a wander around taking pictures for her botanical art.
