Apples and Oranges

By Anitsirk

One of my chores for today: removing lice from our geraniums. I also had kitchen duty, took care of customers and managed the work place when our bosses were in a meeting.
One of my coworkers couldn’t reach her parents after the Israeli attack on Iran. I heard her talking on the phone and hoped she’d gotten through to them. Then I heard sobbing, so I went to her. After holding her for a while I asked the other coworker that’d joined us, to fetch the boss who is my coworker’s supervisor. It was better to hand her over to her supervisor. It broke my heart to hear her so panicked. Later I remembered, from my time with the Red Cross, that you can contact them to have them search. Of course, it’s the Red Crescent in Iran, but it’s the same organization and they have boots on the ground in areas hit with catastrophe. I ran it through my boss first, so I didn’t barge in and say something unnecessary. She thought it a good idea though, so I forwarded my information and gave my coworker a firm hug and whispered to her that I hoped everything would be ok. I just hope she’ll find her family alive and well…

When I left work I went into town to pick up a parcel and by some sand paper. Then home via the supermarket, where I was too tired too get everything on my list, so I’ll have to go back during the weekend.
I’m having headaches daily now and it’s so tiring… meds don’t always work. Sorry for not visiting your journals…I’ll get to in during the weekend.
