Amaryllis
I have several amaryllis bulbs that I've managed to cajole into re-blooming, a couple of them for a two or three years now. It's not a complicated process really. After they bloom I place them outdoors through the summer. In late September I clean them up, leaving any green foliage, and put them under my potting bench in the garage, where they won't freeze. I forget about them until it's a reasonable temperature outdoors - maybe late April. I shake off all the old soil and repot in fresh soil and sometimes a larger pot if necessary. Then into a mostly shaded, protected spot in my courtyard. This year three of them re-bloomed within several weeks of re-potting. I think the other two were forced this past year and bloomed in the winter. I know it's not rocket science, but it always makes me feel like I've had a great accomplishment ;-)
Here's a close up of one of them...fascinating close up of anthers and stigmas! I used my Moment Macro lens for my iPhone - this is the 75mm.
