Water of Leith

Up early to pack and head up to Edinburgh to meet three of my university chums. I dropped the car off at Ocean Terminal - 24 hours free parking! - and then took the tram up to St Andrew's Square, which has changed a fair. amount since I worked there nearly thirty years ago.

I met Bob in the Guildford Arms just before midday for a couple of beers and a bite to eat before we walked up to Bow Bar to meet Ash and Ross. Meeting up with Bob first made for quite a nice way of easing into the event.

It was Ash's birthday, today, so his present from all of us was dinner at The Kitchin. Since Bob knows the owner, Tom (football-related), we were taken into the kitchen to sit at the 'bus shelter' for cocktail and amuse-bouche. (One of the staff kindly took the photo in my Extra.)
