The Yellow Maple Leaves
Today I took my lawnmower for the first walk of the year. I walk and it cuts the grass.
So much for the ‘No Mow May’ campaign. The grass of our ‘lawn’ is really quite long and it takes quite a few hours of work to return it to a lawn.
We have some maple trees and one has suffered a lightening strike. The main trunk is split. Remarkably, it is still growing apart from a few leaves which have turned yellow.
However, I think I will have to cut quite a lot of this maple tree down. The branches of the maple will be used by Pat to form a tepee clad in Highland Spring Water bottles.
‘No Mow May’ is a campaign to encourage insect diversity and wild flowers.
