THEN AND NOW

A  trip into Grange this morning for some shopping.  There was a deluge just before we left, short but very sharp and very heavy rain with some thunder and lightening during the night.

We went prepared but as it it turned out it was very grey but warm and we didn't get any rain - yeah!!!

I am now working on a project for the U3A Camera Club next Thursday called THEN AND NOW.  We have all been given about 4 or 5 photos of areas of where we live from way back in the eearly 1900s, some probably even earlier.  I have been allocated some areas of Kents Bank, where I live.  Two of them are impossible - one is because Abbott Hall is no more and you just cannot get access to the grounds, but I may look again see if someone working there will let me in just to see!!! Ther other is taken from Kirkhead Tower looking down onto Kents Bank and Abbot Hall - unfortunately that is private land and difficult to get access too.

Still there are three areas I can do - this is just one of them.  One of the houses here use to be a Post Office, in fact it still was with a small general store right up until 2016 when it closed  permanently, very sadly.

I've also included the same diptych but turned by photo (the bottom one) black and white to go with the original way back when photo.

That's all from me for now - do take care and stay safe and I will see you all tomorrow.
