Sanderlings on Eday

A beautiful sunny day on Eday, though fairly breezy. I chose this island for a day out as there had been two reports of a snowy owl there. The only one I have seen was on Eday some years ago. But no sign. It could easily be somewhere on the moors, even just sitting beyond a rock or wall. Still, I saw an otter, briefly, two short-eared owls, one male hen harrier, as many as six Arctic skuas, about eleven great skuas etc. Not many small waders0 the sanderlings were in a flock of about 25.
