Another repair

And another productive day.

Cleaned out the water feature (it was full of leaves AGAIN!), and cleaned out the rain water tank while I was at it.  The saga here is that someone, I don’t know who (and if you believe that you will believe anything), tried to get 100 gallons of water into the water feature and it didn’t quite fit.  I just needed to washed out fifteen years of sediment which was surprisingly very little, but I do keep the water chlorinated.

For the curious the overflow from the water tank goes straight to the pond, but there is also a connection to top-up the pond from the tank if it doesn’t rain.

As for the repair, some weeks ago the power input to the laptop had packed up so it couldn’t be charged. Broken connections in the socket as it usually is for this type of fault.  Impossible to repair in situ so I had to take the socket out of the laptop and connect it up with ‘loose’ wiring.  Unfortunately I had not given any decent support to the wiring from where it’s soldered to the socket so the wiring finally came adrift.  Re-soldered back together and added cable support (a bent paperclip fixed to the socket) and all working well as can be seen.  The whole thing wrapped up un self-amalgamating electrical tape.

I even got to see most of Trooping the Colours.

Bangers and mash for tea, and Liza Tarbuck.  Now you can’t get much sillier than that!
