I had to organise an ash scattering ceremony this morning. I was expecting half a dozen people and all these people turned up. It was for a friend called Louis who was a fellow member of the Bangor University Mountaineering Society. I read a poem requested by his mum and then people recounted tales of Louis exploits. I then read another poem about Louis and another his dad had written. Finally, lots of people wanted to scatter his ashes which were in a Lapsong tea tin. I’ve sent his mum a resume of all that happened and some photos, hopefully she will be pleased.
