Putti and a tower
Today we have taken it easy with a short drive. We met a friend whom I have known for over fifty years. And her husband of course.
But on the way there we were going to visit the oldest preserved church in northern Sweden. But unfortunately it was closed. So we went down to the church pier and admired the view. And it was nice
Extras: Then we went to a church tower, which is on the list of Odd Attractions. Some say that the church tower is an old defence tower from the 13th century, others disagree and say that it is just a church tower. Anyway, we saw that the church gate itself was open, so we slipped inside. There I saw a nice putto under blue canvas painted on the wall. Two putti crowned the two halves of the church door. I had never seen anything like that before.
There had been a baptism in the church and the caretaker had not had time to leave the church, hence the open door. And he was so nice and unlocked the church tower. My husband climbed all the way up, I stayed on the flat ground. My knees had not liked the ascent. Nor the descent. Then it was time to drive and meet our friends.
