A walk down to our lake

All that verdant growth is quite a contrast with a blip from April, never mind how it looks in snowy January.
The contrast in the seasons is one of the reasons I love living in this part of the world.
In the afternoon Lasse and Annika arrived, together with their dog Mika. We enjoyed an early (a week early) version of a Midsummer dinner, also featuring the beer we brewed just over a month ago. All three sorts, bitter, Pilsner, and ginger beer were definitely acceptable and they will all continue to improve  over the next 6 months in the cellar.
Mika is a rather nervous dog so I felt very honoured when she jumped up onto the sofa, next to me, and went off to sleep, both leaning on me slightly and being an armrest for me!
As usual the talk flowed freely. It was a slight shock when we noticed it was past midnight. These white níghts are a bit confusing, timewise, even for us locals!
