No Kings Day
Today in Boone, a small mountain town in western North Carolina, Gina and I marched in this version of No Kings Day, with about 300 others. We met at the town hall and greeted passersby for 2 hours before marching down the main street. We were one of well over 2000 demonstrations around the nation with many more in Canada, Mexico and elsewhere. Hopefully, we counteracted the expensive parade in Washington, and sent a strong message to the weak politicians that supposedly represent us. The extra is another image of the protest. We did meet a lot of great people during the morning.
Tonight in Boone, we will attend a concert by the Dizzy Gillespie Big Band, part of the High Mountain Jazz Fest. We will be returning home tomorrow.
