Hare
It took me ages to get going today. Sleep has been even more up the swanny than usual and I was too worn out to get organised. I eventually got into the garden after all the hefty rainfall had passed through and finally managed to clear space for the spindly sweet peas and various other odds and sods, and generally faffed about. Then, to make up for my morning lethargy, I got the bike out this evening and cycled to Kirby Thore and back. I got sidetracked by a few beautiful wild meadows full of buttercups, red clover, ox-eye daisies, yellow rattle. I’d already seen a couple of hares but stopped to watch this one loping across the field in the dramatic evening light as the storm clouds moved off over the Pennines.
