Sleep Over

Tonight Sam had his sleep over.
After H0tamer and Caspar went to bed I picked Sam (our neighbours dog) and his bed and brought him to us, because nobody could take care for his this night due an organizational error. I walk weekly with him, but he never was in our house. After an intensive sniff he setteled in quickly.
When I finally went to bed the couch he instantly sprang onto the couch and curled behind my knees. We don't usually allow dogs on the couch, but I made an exception for Sam. He's 14 and usually sleeps in his owner's bed. I felt honored that he sought my company. But I'm not used to sharing a couch. Let's just say the night was short and uncomfortable. At 6 a.m. I decided to move to the second, smaller couch. Sam just blinked at me briefly and then went back to sleep, deeply relaxed. And I was glad for the extra two hours. After a walk, I brought him back home, where the owner's son had also returned in the meantime.
