Reading with Dad - 1955

It's Father's Day, a time to remember and honor our fathers who shaped and guided our lives.  This is my favorite picture of Dad and Me, not that I have too many of them really.  As usual, I have my nose in a book, that hasn't changed in 70 years.  Dad in his white tee shirt and truck driver's tan is how I remember him.  He was always building something, and I learned whatever handy "girl" skills I have to him. I like to build things too.  He taught me to swing a bat and since he was left-handed, I learned that way.  I am a bit ambidextrous now.  I wonder what he would think of what is happening in our country today.  I suspect he would be none too pleased.  He fought the fascists in 1944/45 and probably thought that horrible scourge had been dealt with.  Unfortunately, we'll have to do it again, Dad.  Millions turned out yesterday to protest the mad king.  It will take time and constant pressure, but we'll do it, again. I made a little something to commemorate "No Kings Day".  (Extra)
