Ulverston Canal

What a night  last night! Thunder all night long.  I've never known it last so long. The rain sounded torrential too! Some of the thunderclaps were extremely  loud . At one point it seemd to be directly over the house it was so loud and woke us up with a huge start.
Robbie didnt stir!
But this morning the rain stopped and the forecast was for dry for the rest of the day so we drove along the Coast road to Ulverston.

I wanted to get some food for Robbie from the big pet shop in Ulverston and M wanted a browse in Mountain Warehouse which is next door. And we thought wed get a few bits from M&S food.

We parked in Booths and took the path that leads to the canal. Another new place for Robbie.
I was surprised to see how the canal is almost completely covered in water lilies,  once you get past this bridge. It should look wonderful when all the flowers bloom.

Farther down the canal, someone has cleared an area and there was a family of swans. I only had the phone camera so couldnt zoom in very far. See extra
. We didnt go the whole length as we are aware we shouldn't over tax Robbie.. although I think he could have easily done the full 3 miles without any problem.
M didnt find anything he liked/ needed in Mountain Warehouse but I found a soft silky Tee shirt in the sale and the  exact colour of my jacket so 'had to buy it '  M  got some socks in the WCF shop where I got Robbie some training treats , a piece of fallow stag horn and puffed chicken feet ( !!) These were recommended by the breeder. They dont look too bad. I have to draw the line at giving him rabbits ears etc..
A quick stop at M&S  .
Robbie is adapting well to the canvas 'kennel' in the car. He no longer barks non stop . Maybe the quick treat thrown in helps but he settles down and seems quite relaxed.
