All Too Much (The Wild Robot), Maidstone
It was the usual activity for a Sunday, that is the weekly food shop and a swift pint afterwards. On quite a regular basis we pop into town on the way home to see if we can capture some images and we've now sort of agreed that our ongoing project is going to be photographing Maidstone in all it's glory, guts and everything in between (within reason!).
Today I was walking along Week Street when I spotted this woman and her three young kids surrounded by the shadows of a strong summer sun. I think it was all getting a bit too much for her and she put her hand to her head for a brief moment. I really liked how her son seemed to be reverentially holding his copy of The Wild Robot in his hands like a calm counterpoint to her moment of being overwhelmed.
