Lining The Rootes
Today was the usual Sunday food shop followed by our customary pint at The Horseshoes and, as has become a regular habit, a stop off in town on the way home for a stroll and the chance to get a shot for blip.
Today's image is actually an update to a couple of previous blips - from 15/04/2021 and 28/10/2022 - featuring the old Art Deco style Rootes car showroom and workshops in Maidstone that are being converted into apartments, restaurants and shops.
On the last occasion I photographed this site back in 2022 work had finally restarted after nearly 18 months of inaction but even now it is sill a work in progress although it is beginning, at last, to look like the artist's impression on the billboard from all that time ago.
I thought I'd wait until the project is finally complete before posting an image of it in it's full refurbished glory so I've gone for a more 'tantalising' shot of the fencing and plastic sheeting still surrounding parts of the site as the sun was casting some wonderfully squiggly lined shadows!
