Dial 999...

...takes the longest.

I dust this, badly if you zoom in, every week because it sits on the hall table. It has done so since I moved in, which was only six years ago. It did work in the early days but digital has seen the end to its mellifluous ring.

And, in any case, I gave up the landline a good five years ago.

But, it sits there to remind me of the good old days when we used to sit in the hallway to have a natter with a friend or book a call to Canada at Christmastime to chat with relatives. 

As for this evening, I'll have my feet up streaming 4K telly with Dolby Atmos sound over the fibre broadband...
