Sunny Jim

Blue plaque in need of some attention in Brixham. In memory of Prime Minister James Callaghan b. 1912, d. 2005. He lived here from 1914 to 1922 when his father was in the coastguard. These are coastguard cottages. He visited his old home and Furzeham Primary School on frequent occasions. Known as Sunny Jim,  he was an MP 1945-1987, Leader of the Labour Party 1976-1980, Prime Minister 1976-1979 and became Lord Callaghan of Cardiff in 1987.
Extra is a bench in need of some attention. With a great view. One of two at this spot.
