Life is a Challenge!

THE GOOD NEWS IS...

...I’m not pregnant!!

The bad news is I have to be a “patient patient” for a little while longer!

I was quite late going to bed last night and knew I only had to get myself ready and have some breakfast before my friend, Caroline, came to pick me up to take us both to Jack’s for a coffee catch-up.

However, at 9.01 I had a call from a mobile number I didn’t recognise, so didn’t answer because I tend to get a lot of spam calls!  I then did a reverse call query online and found out that the number was from the NHS, so I quickly rang it.

It was the Cardiology Department from our local hospital saying they had had a cancellation for a heart scan at the West Swindon Health Centre, the place I had returned my monitor to last week, and could I go at 10 o’clock - although Caroline was due to pick me up for our coffee date at 10, I said I would be there.

Mr. HCB was busy in the garden, but said he would get changed and take me, so I rang Caroline and asked if she would either like to meet later or rearrange - she immediately said she could come and pick me up and take me - what a lovely friend!

We got there at 9.50;  I went straight in and was out at about 10.05 - how good is that.  I was seen by “L”, lovely lady who, according to her badge, was a “Highly Specialist Physiologist” - which she told me, meant that she had been doing it a long time!

When she said she would put some gel on me that would be quite cold, I asked if it was the same sort of scan that was done in pregnancy and she confirmed it was.  Whilst she was doing the scan, it bleeped quite a lot, but thankfully, when she had finished, she told me that nothing untoward was showing and the results would be sent to the hospital and my GP after which the hospital would give me an appointment.  I told her I hoped it would be soon so that I could start driving again!

When she had finished, I said “Could I ask a silly question?”  She told me that no question was silly - but of course, I wasn’t bothered about the actual scan but just wanted to know if I could take a shot of the machine for today’s Blip!!  She told me she would get a good shot of my heart on the screen, so I asked her if she knew the Cilla Black song “Anyone Who Had a Heart”?  She said she wasn’t familiar with it, so I sang it to her - well you knew I would, didn’t you?  She then said she thought it was LuLu who had sung this not Cilla Black!

I was cross with myself, because I had been in such a rush to get out that I didn’t pick up any of my little wooden hearts, so told her I would have given her one, but she showed me three hearts embroidered onto her uniform, so I didn’t feel so bad!

So here is MY heart - if I am pregnant, it looks as if it could be a little bird - my lovely Blip friend, LSquare, would be proud of me as I can definitely see some pareidolia here!

So, as I said, now I have to be a “patient patient” once again - but I will be calling the Cardiology Department later this week to see if I can get an early appointment.

I’m sure you will understand why I couldn’t take part in the Mono Monday challenge today!
