Picnicking

We had to go to Brighton to deal with some Halifax accounts. The Uckfield branch closed some time ago so no point my Mum banking with them any longer. Only one bank remains in Uckfield now - Santander- which is closing soon. Thankfully the Nationwide isn’t going anywhere.

Anyway, it was an hour on the bus there and back but Mum enjoyed the chance to visit M&S. We bought sandwiches and ate them on the beach. The woman at the Halifax was rather perfunctory, I thought. She photocopied Dad’s death certificate and then said we had to phone the bereavement team. I don’t know why they can’t do that themselves.

We are on the bus back and Mum has dozed off. I am heading back to Scotland tonight.
