Unexpected

I have left my amaryllis plants outside since January, giving them no attention, so I was very surprised to see a bud appear recently. Unfortunately something had half chewed through the stem of this one so I am enjoying it in the kitchen.
Sorry for lack of entries or responses lately, since returning from holiday I have succumbed to a rotten cold so have been staying in armed with tissues and paracetamol.
