Pretty in Pink

I am always delighted when these Sweet William plants make a reappearance, not least because they were bought reduced at Dobbies 3 or 4 years ago.  What a bargain ! The same can't be said for other purchases made over the years.

I however wasn't feeling totally in the pink this morning. I'm not sure why because I slept reasonably well but my planned didn't happen nor did a swim later. Instead I started writing my latest "family history" which tells of my  4th great grandparents who came to work in the slate quarries on Seil and their children.  This includes my fourth great grand aunt who was called in front of the Kirk elders and rebuked for having a child when she was not married.  The records make grim reading as she was questioned as to where the child was conceived, who the father was and who else was aware.

I felt more energetic after lunch and a start was made to clearing the side border at the lounge.  A young Robin kept me company for part of time. The courgette flower I spotted yesterday has fallen off revealing a baby courgette and I harvested more radishes and some mixed leaves along with a few rhubarb stalks.  All were tasty but it will be while before I can claim to be living the "Good Life" !
