But, actually, most of them have holes made by birds and further excavated by ants. And then, discovered that humans had bent our fence down to steal some, and chucked the unripe ones on the ground. So... picked the lot and will slice them up and keep in fridge or freezer for now.

A way too hot day - did the Lula walk at about nine this evening, the Lake was brass, not a ripple and glowing rather meanancingly. Had a shower outside in the dark, fan on, might be cool enough to go to bed. Both my roses and the nasturtians are frazzled, even though well watered.

Gratefuls:
- getting an appointment for Duarte to see if he can improve the air con on our ancient car
- kayak on the roof of the car ready for an outing in the morning
- a snazzy new compost bin to replace the one that had become rather disgusting (both from Lidl)
