Hanging on
Despite several recent frosts - including one this morning which still frilled this basket fungus when I took the photo - the fungi are still growing.
There were seven of them on display in K's garden while I worked there earlier today. I don't remember them lasting so long into winter before. They are mysterious and beautiful things.
Once again the cold night gave way to a beautiful sunny day and it didn't take me too long to warm up as I raked leaves and then weeded K's garden. It was a satisfying way to spend the morning.
And I caught up with R which was lovely. Now that FFL has formalised his offer for R's house I suddenly find it a bit awkward to talk to either of them about it, so I am asking no questions (despite itching to know what's going on) and trying to be uninvolved. Of course both R and FFL are telling me the occasional thing, so I am perfecting the art of the poker face and making no comment. I have to leave it to the two of them to sort it all out, while crossing my fingers really hard.
