Journey

After a hearty breakfast we set off on the long journey - southwards, but with a lot of detours. We visited the church at Mingarry where my grandmother was baptised (in 1885) and then up the track to Dorlin so that we could gaze across at Eilean Shona. This is almost the same image as when I visited last year (and similar weather!), but with the welcome addtion of D.

Then we meandered on (one of those single track roads with passing places that grandly labels itself an A road!) and eventually got to Strontian, where we stopped to use their facilities and to buy what turned out to be a very boring sandwich.

On via the Corran ferry (extra, taken mid-voyage!), Connel Bridge, Taynuilt, Inveraray.....then making sure we chose the correct road to get down the finger of land that includes Tighnabruich. Deployed the midge protection as soon as we arrived, so weren't too badly attacked. L and J hospitable as ever and L cooked a nice lasagne.
