At last

Of the five supermarkets in Ottobeuren, only one has an EV charger. It's a very powerful 300kW DC one but relatively expensive and not really appropriate for the potential customers who are either locals who largely charge at home or tourists who will spend several hours in the town and only need slower (and cheaper) chargers. At this fast chargers, most EVs will be full in 30 minutes & those sightseeing the Basilica will hardly have opened the church doors before they have to return and move the car to avoid blocking chargers.

So good that the German-wide Netto supermarket has installed a 50kW DC charger which covers both those that need a relatively large charge - most cars would be full after an hour, but also great for 20-30 minute shop.

The charger has not yet started operation, so only one matter to sort - the price! I hope it's no more than €0.49 / kWh but should be more like €0.39 to be attractive. Like most locals charging at home from PV or the grid at €0.30, it's only interesting in winter.
