Shopping

Zihuatanejo is a large enough town that we have two big grocery stores, which also have sections devoted to electronics, hardware, clothing, appliances, and housewares as well as a small Sam's Club. For most of the locals, however, the real shopping takes place at hundreds of these small Miscelenias. They are on just about every corner in residential neighborhoods, we have three on the main street at our end of the beach. They sell a variety of staple items, nothing fancy, nothing special. Some are more specialized than others, the one closest to our apartment sells beverages and a few, very few, snack items. The ones closer to the beach have some fresh produce and larger selection of snacks. Regardless, they all seem to stay in business and are close by when you need a soda or some chips.
