Circa 1860 ….

… the guards van, not me!
I worked on a Railway Experience train today using the oldest set of carriages and guard van. The train guarding is carried out by sitting on the edge of the van, like in the photo. The view of the valley going past is amazing. There were guides giving talks in the carriages and stops for photo opportunities. Plus a tour round the loco works and a cream tea afterwards.
The passengers were from all around the world today which was great too. I’m a bit tired this evening but ready to do it all again tomorrow.
