Back Into Cottage Life

Today's main blip is to make up for yesterday's unflattering blip of Mr.Beaver. Today he didn't seem to be in as much of a rush to get home from work and was cruising by in leisurely fashion, not plowing through the water with the fur on his neck flying!  Today, he looked much more like his usual charming self.

After a long absence, I am starting to get back into the slower pace of life on this little island and am quite enjoying it. Some days are quiet and uneventful, perfect for lounging about on the dock, roaming around taking photos, or just reading an entertaining book. I love those days.

Others days hold surprises - nice surprises - like today a visit from my daughter and SIL that I had not expected. With them here, life is more active. They immediately tackle DIY projects, or fix little annoyances like a tv that isn't working, but there is always fun too. Today it was having our first swim of the season! It was a swim that was considered "safe" for me as there is this feeling in the family that I should not swim alone, which is tough, as I am usually here by myself and I love to go in swimming!

While they were here visiting, we had another surprise...Our Bell Canada Fibre Optic cable arrived! By boat of course ( extra) and underwater. It is now ready to be connected to the cottage. Let the bells ring out, let the banners fly!

Sometimes surprises are not all that great, and this one really shouldn't be called a surprise as it happens a lot! A power outage. Today it was a relatively short outage but it was still inconvenient. It never fails; it always seems to happen just when you need the stove, or are counting on the internet or the tv for something important. But it usually isn't a big deal and today was one of those not-a-big-deal outages. So all was well.
