Library

I had to meet a client in the city centre this morning, so parked by the central library. It gives me the chance for a stroll, but also to have a coffee on the roof before heading back.
The 1970s USSR Helios lens I used to take this is a lot better behaved when you stop it down a bit, this was f5.6. A phone pic of a more frequently taken view of the atrium is in the extras, & illustrates my problem with iphones. They’re too good.
They expose brilliantly & put an amazing amount of detail & light into shadows. The images don’t look how I saw the scene.
I want light AND shadow, I want contrast, I don’t want everything to be eye searingly sharp.
There is beauty in imperfection.

Seeing as you didn’t ask.
