Wednesday: Self-sown Poppy
Early morning chat with our daughter as she drove into work, chatting stopped as she entered the tunnel under the river - then a text message to let me know she was walking into the building where she works :-))
After breakfast I collected terracotta pots, sieved compost and wrote labels for the plants which had arrived yesterday, also did same for the plant I’d bought in Beaumaris last week - it’s a gorgeous dark purple Salvia caradonna.
Planted Broad Beans “Aquadulce Claudia” with some Red Chicory into gaps in last year’s pots - my thinking is that there will be an assortment of plants which will confuse slugs and snails and maybe we’ll end up with some beans! I live in hope …

Today’s Blip is the first self sown Poppy to flower, they pop up everywhere because I reuse potting compost, mixing it with fresh compost (all homemade) …
