The end...
A scorching hot afternoon at the Oval watching the Surrey women's team defeat Lancashire Thunder by 53 runs to consolidate their position at the top of the table in the Vitality Blast.
After a slightly shaky start with the bat Surrey posted a healthy 171 for 9, anchored by a fine 57 from Australian all rounder Grace Harris. Lancashire also lost early wickets, but recovered somewhat to reach 103 for 3 in the 13th over, at which point the wheels well and truly fell off as Surrey picked up the remaining seven wickets in four overs whilst conceding only 15 runs.
The star bowling turn was by teenager Ryana MacDonald-Gay, who finished with the preposterously good figures of 3.3 overs, 4 wickets, for only 14 runs. This photo is of the final wicket to fall, when MacDonald-Gay uprooted the stumps of Sophie Morris.
