Boscastle
I decided to take a day trip to Cornwall today. Boscastle in North is a little more than an hour away and I got there before too many people were thronging the little harbour. I realised sitting in the cafe that it's 21 years this year that 8 hours of rain coming down the steep sided valley, causing a flash flood and trapping many people in their houses and devastating the area. Seven rescue helicopters were used in the rescue and against the odds, nobody died.
My blip was taken from the coast footpath looking out to sea. I was fortunate that a small boat came up the channel into the harbour as I was lining up my shot.
Noel Edmonds was hanging around in the town talking to people. I don't know what he was doing there, I thought he'd moved to New Zealand. As I walked back to the car park I did see someone carrying a TV camera down that way.
From there, I drove the few miles to Trebarwith Strand, which you can see in the extra. The tide was high which was ideal withe waves splashing over the slate promontory. That's gull rock looking great on the horizon.
It's been a very hot day but there have been some nice breezes keeping it bearable.
Due to a cock up over the number of tiles in a pack the flooring job is not complete yet. Loads of apologies received but all being well, it should be completed tomorrow. We've been able to put a lot of stuff back in place and it's just a strip in the sunroom still to be completed.
